Lens · Finance Reporting and Analytics · Business Central

Your numbers are already in Business Central. Nobody can read them.

Lens is one live view across every company, location and outlet. Current the moment anyone opens it, governed by role, with nothing rebuilt by hand. Business Central consolidates on a schedule. Lens consolidates continuously, with a balance check per company so the numbers tie.

The questions you ask every month

If you run finance, you ask these every month. Then you wait while somebody builds the answer.

How are my gross margins against last month? Against the same month last year?

Any period against any period, margins by brand, location or outlet, on one screen. Every tab follows the same filters.

Which unit is performing best? Which are the worst?

Every outlet ranked by any measure, computed on the spot, including the unallocated bucket, so nothing is quietly dropped.

Why are payroll costs up? Which branch? Is it a one-off? What is the 12-month trend?

Four questions, one chain. Investigate follows it: cost line to branch to month, with the ledger rows behind every figure.

How are my cash flows? What is my cash conversion cycle?

Cash flow and liquidity read live from the ledger: current the moment anyone opens them, not as of the last export.

Keep asking. It answers.

How is YTD against last year, same period?·Which purchase items have gone up?·What did the price increase actually do?·How are the liquidity ratios?

Ask

Type the question as you would say it. Investigate answers from the ledger; Claude or ChatGPT can connect to the same governed data.

Can I get a P&L for one location?

Already there. Pick the company, location or outlet and every statement re-slices. No new report, nobody to wait for. Monthly, quarterly, yearly or a custom range; current, against prior, or month by month across the year.

Access is granted the same way. A regional manager sees their branches, a brand head sees their brand, finance sees it all, without a separate report built and maintained for every person.

Margin dropped two points. Where?

Investigate follows the chain to the outlet driving it, down to the cost line, and shows the rows behind every figure. Ask it the way you would say it, and it answers from the ledger rather than from a cube somebody has to refresh.

When the data will not support a conclusion, it declines rather than guessing.

Your AI, your ledger

Can we point our own AI at it?

Connect Claude or ChatGPT through the MCP server Lens runs. Answers come from statements that already tie out, under each person's own access. An assistant pointed at raw ERP tables has to infer the accounting; Lens has already done it, so the figure an agent returns is the figure that ties out.

MCP inherits the same role-based grants as the dashboard, so a branch manager's assistant sees their branch and nothing else. That is usually the question that decides whether finance will allow AI near the ledger at all.
